Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our kitchen in a residential care home, based in Crosby, Liverpool.
You will need experience in making healthy meals and have a working knowledge of specialised diets that some of our residents require.
You will be expected to work 12 hour shifts, 5 days over 7. You will be in charge of ordering and maintaining all the paperwork required in line with Health and safety and kitchen/cooking standards
Responsibilities
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
- Supervise food production activities, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently to minimise waste.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety legislation.
- Uphold the organisation’s reputation by consistently delivering high-quality dishes that meet customer expectations.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across diverse cuisines.
- Demonstrable experience in kitchen operations, including food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
- Previous experience in menu development and culinary innovation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry practices related to serving guests efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills to oversee daily kitchen activities effectively.
