An Exciting Opportunity to Build a Home from the Ground Up
City Care Southwest is seeking an ambitious, child-centred, and motivated Registered Manager to lead the development of a brand-new children's home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced manager who wants more than simply managing an established service. You will play a key role in project managing the development of the home, creating the culture, systems, and environment that will shape positive outcomes for children from day one.
You will be fully supported throughout the journey by our experienced leadership team and mentored by our existing Registered Manager, who has successfully led the development and registration of our current service.
The Opportunity
As Registered Manager Designate, you will:
✔ Lead the setup and development of the home prior to opening
✔ Work alongside senior leaders to prepare the home for registration
✔ Complete the Ofsted registration process and fit person interview
✔ Develop policies, procedures, and operational systems
✔ Recruit, induct, and develop a high-performing staff team
✔ Create a warm, nurturing, trauma-informed environment for children
✔ Establish relationships with local authorities and partner agencies
✔ Support referrals, matching decisions, and occupancy planning
✔ Lead the home through its first Ofsted inspection
✔ Shape the home's identity, culture, and therapeutic approach

About You
You will be:

- Committed to trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
- Organised, resilient, and solution-focused
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within required timescales)
- Significant experience working within children's residential care
- Experience in leadership or management within a children's home setting
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- Understanding of Ofsted regulations and inspection framework
- Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: £42,149.20-£52,529.15 per year
