Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves operating a forklift safely and efficiently, loading and unloading customers, dealing with goods in/out. Managing building materials. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, be customer focused, forklift license and excellent organisational skills to work alone as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move goods.
- Manage materials, process orders, ensure accurate storage and retrieval of stock items.
- A proactive approach in learning about the products we sell.
- Assist with loading our own transport, checking deliveries and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Maintain accurate records using the warehouse management system.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment as needed to minimise downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse machinery and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
- Assist with stock organisation, ensuring the warehouse remains tidy and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Support other warehouse tasks such as packing, labelling, and order picking as required.
- Occasional van deliveries/ collections.
Requirements
- Customer focus with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks.
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, with knowledge of materials handling procedures.
- An interest and basic knowledge in the products to enable you to inform customers of the items we stock.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for stock counts and measurements.
- Capable of manual handling of goods safely.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving processes.
- Basic understanding of health & safety regulations in a warehouse environment. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who are customer focused looking to contribute their skills in warehousing and equipment management within a supportive team environment.
- Clean driving license to assist with occasional deliveries.
