Skilled Fitter / Maintenance Operative
James Mellors Limited are currently recruiting for a Skilled Fitter / Maintenance Operative, working predominantly from our facilities near Hucknall (NG15) with some requirement for working away as required by the business needs.
Ideally either from an apprentice trained or time served background.
James Mellors Limited is a family run business specialising in the design, fabrication, maintenance, refurbishment, installation & operation of rides, attractions and customer experiences.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Undertake complete mechanical repairs and refurbishments to James Mellors Limited assets.
- Undertake routine maintenance as required to James Mellors Limited assets.
- Role will require general executing of preventive maintenance, replacing worn parts, and performing general repairs.
- Role will require a good understanding of mechanical components and their assembly / dismantling.
- Carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks as required.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of fault finding and repairs is desirable.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment is essential.
- Ability to understand maintenance schedules.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
- Comfortable working at heights is an advantage.
This role would suit anyone from a mechanical / maintenance background in process, production or manufacturing facilities.
Overtime and occasional working from other sites may be required to keep pace with business needs. Pay is negotiable (in region of £16.00 + per hour) depending upon experience and qualifications.
