We’re looking for a Café Supervisor to join our friendly farm café team and help us deliver a great experience for our customers every day.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hospitality, likes working with people and is confident leading a small team during busy service.
Our café is part of a working farm and wider events business, set in a beautiful countryside location. We’re looking for someone who can help keep the café running smoothly, support the team and maintain the high standards our customers expect.
The Role
Working closely with the owner and manager, you’ll help oversee the day-to-day running of the café and act as the senior member of the team when on shift.
You’ll be involved in everything from opening the café and preparing the team for service through to managing busy periods, dealing with customers and making sure everything is left ready for the following day.
As you gain experience and take on additional responsibility, there will be a clear opportunity to progress within the role and increase your salary.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Supervising and supporting our team of café staff
· Leading the team during busy service periods
· Ensuring customers receive friendly, efficient and professional service
· Helping organise staff rotas and cover
· Supporting the training and development of new team members
· Opening and closing the café
· Overseeing daily cashing up and end-of-day procedures
· Monitoring stock levels and helping with ordering
· Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation
· Ensuring food hygiene, health & safety and café procedures are followed
· Dealing with customer queries and resolving problems professionally
· Supporting the kitchen and front-of-house teams when required
· Helping to minimise waste and maintain good stock control
· Supporting the owner and manager with the smooth running of the café
· Helping during events and particularly busy periods
Progression & Development
We’re keen to find someone who wants to develop with the business.
The starting salary for the role is £28,000 per annum, with the opportunity to take on additional responsibility and progress to a higher salary as your experience and contribution grow.
For the right person, this could include taking greater responsibility for areas such as:
· Staff management and rotas
· Ordering and stock control
· Training and development
· Food safety and compliance
· Customer service standards
· Café systems and procedures
· Supporting the commercial performance of the café
· Taking a greater role in the day-to-day management of the café
We’d much rather develop the right person within the business than expect someone to arrive knowing everything from day one.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, organised and confident leading a team.
You don’t necessarily need to have been a Café Manager before. This could be an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Café Assistant, Team Leader, Supervisor or Assistant Manager looking to take the next step in their career.
You’ll ideally have:
· Previous experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality environment
· Experience supervising or leading a team
· A friendly and approachable personality
· Excellent customer service skills
· Good organisation and communication skills
· The ability to stay calm and positive when things get busy
· Good attention to detail and high standards
· A practical, hands-on approach
· A willingness to get involved and help wherever needed
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who enjoys hospitality and takes pride in creating a great experience for customers and colleagues.
You will play an important role in making sure the café runs smoothly day-to-day.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a relaxed countryside environment but still wants the variety and pace that comes with a busy café and events business.

· Opportunity to increase salary as your responsibilities and experience develop
· 40 hours per week
· Thursday–Monday working pattern, with flexibility around events
