Due to continued company expansion we have a vacancy for a part time (24 hours per week) Welder fabricator - TIG & MIG to join our team. The scope of works is varied but mainly concentrates on the manufacture of bespoke lifting equipment and special purpose machinery. Reporting to the Operations Manager / Managing Director the main duties and responsibilities include the following:
Responsibilities and Duties
- Welding and fabrication of mild steel (90%), aluminium (5%) and stainless steel (5%).
- Follow detail drawings accurately to produce finished fabrications
- Work on both small and large fabrications
- Use of band saw, pillar drill, radial arm drill, iron worker etc
- Attend internal project meetings
- Liaise with the design team to implement design improvements
- Inspection of finished fabricated parts
- Final assembly / fitting of manufactured parts
- Occasional helping out with installation duties
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall objectives of the business.
Essential Requirements
- 2 years experience in fabrication
- 2 years experience with MIG welding
- 2 years experience with TIG welding
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Formal qualification in fabrication and welding
Desirable
- Coded to ISO 9606-1
- Familiar with following welding procedures
- Fork lift truck licence (training can be provided)
- Overhead crane training (training can be provided)
You will also be required to adhere to the companies Health and Safety policy and quality management system.

Package / salary is negotiable for the right candidate depending on skills and experience
3 days per week (Wednesday - Friday, 8 hours per day) + overtime (as and when required)
