The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel is a traditional, family-run hotel nestled in the stunning Langdale Valley. Under new ownership, we are passionate about delivering genuine Cumbrian hospitality, fantastic food and drink, and exceptional service in one of the Lake District's most iconic settings.
We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and flexible General Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across different departments and being part of a close-knit team.
The Role
As a General Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day running of the hotel across several departments, including:
- Housekeeping
- Restaurant waiting-on
- Bartending
- Reception
Your responsibilities will include welcoming guests, serving food and drinks, preparing bedrooms to a high standard, checking guests in and out, answering enquiries, and ensuring every guest receives a warm and memorable experience.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, friendly and professional attitude
- Enjoys working with people and as part of a team
- Is reliable, flexible and willing to learn
- Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
- Has strong attention to detail
- Can remain calm and organised in a busy environment
- Previous hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
