Job Summary
The Old Chapel Café is opening soon within the peaceful grounds of Cheltenham Cemetery, and we are looking for a warm, reliable Barista & Café Assistant to join us from the very beginning. This is a daytime, Monday–Friday role in a calm, respectful setting, supporting both everyday café service and light refreshments for wakes and family gatherings.
Duties
- Prepare and serve high‑quality coffees, teas and hot drinks
- Serve sandwiches, cakes and light food
- Serve beer, wine and simple mixed drinks
- Welcome customers with warmth, patience and professionalism
- Maintain a clean, calm and inviting café environment
- Support the smooth running of daily operations in a small, friendly team
- Follow basic food safety and hygiene standards
- Restock supplies and keep service areas organised
Experience
- Barista or café experience preferred (training available for the right person)
- Comfortable serving alcoholic drinks in a professional, responsible manner
- Experience in hospitality, customer service or café work is helpful
- Able to stay steady under pressure and work with care in a respectful setting
- Good communication skills and a positive, people‑focused attitude
Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
