Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with SEN experience or an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Occupational Therapy team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support children with diverse needs, including those with autism and other disabilities, within schools or in a therapy space. Duties
- Assist in delivery of personalised learning programmes for children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Support children with autism, disabilities, or behavioural challenges to promote engagement and participation in classroom activities.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop effective strategies that meet individual needs.
- Provide one-to-one support for children requiring additional assistance, including toddlers and early learners.
- Implement behaviour management techniques in line with school policies to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist with the organisation of therapy resources and adapt activities to suit individual learning styles.
- Support children during lessons, breaks, and specialised therapy sessions such as occupational therapy.
- Maintain clear communication with colleagues, parents, and external professionals regarding student progress and needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or care settings is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other special educational needs is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting children with disabilities is essential.
- Experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or HLTA is required.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members, children, and families.
- Familiarity with child development is preferred but not mandatory.

The salary is based on term-time only.
Pay: £700.00-£900.00 per month
