Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Finisher to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for refining and finishing metal components to meet quality standards, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and precision. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and experience in metal fabrication processes. The position involves working with various tools and techniques to achieve smooth, polished, and accurately finished metal parts, primarily within sheet metal environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform grinding, polishing, and finishing of metal surfaces to achieve specified textures and appearances
- Utilise hand tools and power tools such as grinders, sanders, and polishers effectively and safely
- Conduct welding tasks when necessary to prepare or repair components
- Apply fabrication techniques including cutting, shaping, and assembly of sheet metal parts
- Use basic maths skills to measure and verify dimensions accurately
- Operate tooling equipment to ensure precise finishing of components
- Follow technical drawings and specifications to meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist in the assembly process when required, ensuring parts fit correctly and meet tolerances
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, grinding, welding, or related metal finishing roles
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of sheet metal properties and handling techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and tooling used in finishing processes
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality craftsmanship
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to finishing tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
