About the Role
We are seeking a qualified, highly experienced, and meticulous Payroll Administrator to manage our monthly payroll operations for our small, dedicated team of 5 employees. This is a fully remote position offering excellent flexibility, making it ideal for an independent payroll professional or dedicated freelancer looking to manage a streamlined account.
While the day-to-day workload is light due to our team size, the successful candidate must have reliable availability throughout the month to process ad-hoc amendments, ensuring that final payroll processing, HMRC submissions, and wage slips are delivered accurately by the end of every calendar month.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Monthly Payroll: Manage and process accurate monthly payroll calculations for 5 employees.
- In-Month Amendments: Maintain availability during regular business hours to input mid-month payroll adjustments, wage changes, or data updates provided by management.
- HMRC Compliance & PAYE: Take full responsibility for submitting accurate payroll and PAYE information to HMRC, including RTI (Real Time Information), Full Payment Submissions (FPS), and Employer Payment Summaries (EPS).
- Payslip Distribution: Generate and securely distribute electronic wage slips to employees by the final day of every month, alongside handling any required P45 or P60 documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Qualified & Experienced: Must hold a formal payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP or equivalent) and have demonstrable experience managing UK business payroll.
- Software Competency: Practical experience working with Sage Payroll Services is ideal and highly preferred. However, we are completely open to transitioning to alternative modern payroll software platforms depending on your professional recommendation.
- Reliable & Available: Must be available to quickly communicate and apply dynamic data adjustments throughout the month.
- Remote Capability: Must possess a secure, GDPR-compliant home working setup with a reliable internet connection.
- Attention to Detail: Absolute accuracy with numbers, zero room for error with compliance timelines, and complete discretion handling sensitive data.
What We Offer
- 100% Remote Work: The autonomy to work entirely from home or your own private office space.
- Flexible Compensation: We are happy to pay a competitive hourly rate for work tracked, or negotiate a fixed recurring monthly fee structure.
- Low-Volume Account: A straightforward, clean payroll run for 5 salaried employees, requiring low hours but consistent precision.
