Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:45 - 16:30
- Friday: 07:45 - 12:45

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a practical and motivated Calibrating Technician to join our engineering client's growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach who enjoys working with precision equipment and problem-solving.
The Role:
As a Calibrating Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, calibration, repair and assembly of specialist railway measuring equipment and track gauges.
Your duties will include:
- Calibrating specialist railway measuring equipment
- Measuring and testing track gauge equipment
- Carrying out repairs and adjustments
- Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies
- Recording calibration results and maintaining accurate documentation
- Inspecting equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Following workshop procedures and health & safety requirements
Calibrations are detailed and methodical, typically taking several hours to complete, making this role ideal for someone who takes pride in accurate and high-quality work.
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge or engineering experience
- Good practical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow technical procedures
- Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment
- A methodical approach to work
- Strong problem-solving skills and common sense
- Previous experience in calibration, assembly, maintenance, repair or engineering environments would be advantageous but is not essential
