Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class 2 Tipper Driver specializing in tarmac delivery to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a Class 2 (medium-sized) tipper truck, primarily transporting tarmac and other construction materials to various sites. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 tipper truck, ensuring timely delivery of tarmac and construction materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking for mechanical issues, fluid levels, and safety equipment functionality
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper handling and securement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver reports, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with site managers and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards throughout each shift
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues and perform basic repairs or report major concerns promptly
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly operating tipper trucks or similar heavy vehicles
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting minor faults
- Experience operating excavators or other construction machinery is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to construction transportation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and site personnel
