Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our new nursery team from September 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in early childhood education and childcare to make a positive impact on children's lives.
Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children and their families
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development through personalised care and attention
- Supervise and guide junior staff or trainees, demonstrating effective management and leadership skills
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and wellbeing
- Organise daily routines including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods
- Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed at all times
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery’s curriculum and policies
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting (1 year minimum)
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within a childcare environment
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Early Years or equivalent are preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative and independence
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- A caring, enthusiastic, and reliable approach.
Desirables:
- Paediatric First Aid certificate
- Safeguarding training
- Experience supporting SEND and EAL children.
