The role -
We are seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Repairs Service Administrator to join our Environmental & Housing Property Services team. This part‑time role (18.5 hours per week over 5 days) is essential in helping tenants keep their homes in good repair by providing an efficient, friendly and professional first point of contact for all repair enquiries.
You will support tenants, customers, colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure repairs are accurately logged, scheduled and completed, contributing directly to the Council’s strategic purposes:
Key Requirements -

Respond to incoming telephone calls and understand repair requests

Interpret customer issues into clear repair jobs

Arrange suitable appointment times with tradespeople

Liaise with contractors and trades teams via phone or text
-
Record repair details accurately on the reactive repairs system

Raise work orders and process contractor invoices

Complete post‑repair quality check call‑backs
-
Provide administrative support to the Repairs, Voids and Housing Capital teams

Maintain manual and computerised records

Assist with producing service statistics and performance data

Support continuous improvement across the service

Uphold confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act

Contribute to a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety legislation
Skills & experience - You will be someone who has

Recent experience in a frontline customer service role

Strong computer literacy

Fast and accurate data entry skills

Understanding of basic building terminology

Ability to work under pressure and manage workload

Effective interpersonal skills

Empathy, professionalism and a positive customer‑focused attitude

Ability to deal confidently with difficult conversations
