Job Title: Housekeeping/ Laundry Assistant Staff
Responsible To: Care Home Manager / Head of Housekeeping
Responsible For: Housekeeping & Laundry Staff
Basic Skills Requirements (including numeracy, literacy, and English-speaking abilities:
Willingness to interact with residents.
Willingness to undergo training.
Previous supervisory experience within a housekeeping department in the health and Care Sector.
Experience in staff supervision and training.
Relevant NVQ Level qualification would be beneficial.

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our team at Hatley Court Haven Care Home, located in the heart of our community. The Housekeeper/ Laundry assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping
- Ensure all resident rooms and common areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness
- Assist with laundry services as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
- Support residents by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless operations
- Participate in training and development opportunities.

- Proven experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles
- Strong understanding of hospitality principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the care home.

Day-to-Day Duties Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with housekeeping and laundry staff for special requirements.
2. To ensure cleaning of all areas of the home are to the highest standard, including grounds.
3. Distribute cleaning materials and equipment.
4. To ensure that all cleaning and laundry consumables are ordered from current nominated suppliers in line with the Company purchasing policy.
5. To ensure the laundry of residents’ clothing is to the highest standard, including Ironing.
6. Maintain records including records of spring cleaning and special requirements.
7. Check each unit for a satisfactory standard of cleanliness and odour control.
8. Oversee stock of uniforms and distribution as required.
9. Oversee and maintain toiletry stock for use by residents.
10. Domestic duties in the allocated unit
12. Promote good working relationships amongst all staff at the home.
General responsibilities of the position include:
1. Always follow the home’s written policies and procedures.
2. Be aware, ensure in maintaining infection control.
6. Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the home and adhere to COSSH guidelines.
7. Stock control
8. Maintain health and safety in the home by always adhering to the company’s policies and procedures, including instructions in the Facilities Manual

Pay: £12.75 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
