We are looking for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Conversion Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help build bespoke luxury vehicles from start to finish.
The Role
As a Vehicle Conversion Technician, you will be responsible for transforming standard Mercedes V Class vehicles into high-end luxury conversions. You’ll work on every stage of the build, ensuring each vehicle meets the quality and finish our customers expect.
Responsibilities
● Strip and prepare vehicles for conversion.
● Install bespoke interiors, seating, flooring, insulation, and trim.
● Carry out automotive electrical installations, including lighting, entertainment systems, power supplies, and accessories.
● Install and test wiring looms and electrical components.
● Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to support vehicle assembly and installation.
● Diagnose and rectify electrical or installation faults.
● Ensure every build is completed to an exceptional standard.
● Work closely with the production team to meet build schedules.
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
Essential Skills & Experience
● Previous experience working with vehicles (mechanic, vehicle technician, coachbuilder, auto electrician, campervan/motorhome conversions, or similar).
● Good understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems.
● Confident using hand and power tools.
● Excellent practical problem-solving skills.
● Strong attention to detail.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
● Experience with luxury vehicle or campervan conversions.
● Upholstery, fabrication, or carpentry experience.
● Knowledge of CAN bus systems.
● Experience installing audio, lighting, or multimedia systems.
● MIG/TIG welding or fabrication skills.
