Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Dry Stone Waller to initially assist with one project but an opportunity for full time work if the quality of work and approach fits.
Responsibilities
- Construct good quality dry stone walls using traditional techniques
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up batter frames
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels and levels to shape and position stones accurately
- Collaborate with team members to plan layouts and execute projects efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Inspect completed structures for stability, alignment, and visual quality, making adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly
- Follow project specifications and safety protocols diligently throughout each phase of construction
Requirements
- Proven experience in masonry or stonework, with a focus on dry stone walling or similar outdoor construction techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools including hammers, chisels, and levels; familiarity with power tools is a plus
- MUST HAVE VALID CSCS CARD or be willing to get one
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality of finished work
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and safety coordination
Pay: From £25.00 per hour
