Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridal Seamstress to join our bespoke bridal atelier. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, fitting, and altering wedding gowns and accessories as well as managing schedules and timeline. ensuring each piece meets our high standards of craftsmanship and client satisfaction. This role offers an opportunity to work on exquisite designs in a creative and collaborative environment, specialising in custom bridal wear.
Responsibilities
- Crafting and constructing wedding dresses according to bespoke designs and client specifications.
- Performing fittings with clients, making precise adjustments to ensure perfect fit and comfort.
- Altering and repairing gowns to meet individual requirements, maintaining the integrity of the original design.
- Collaborating with designers and clients to interpret design sketches into finished garments.
- Selecting appropriate fabrics, laces, embellishments, and trims to enhance each piece's aesthetic appeal.
- Maintaining a clean, organised workspace adhering to health and safety standards.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Bridal Seamstress or Dressmaker specialising in wedding attire.
- Extensive knowledge of sewing techniques, pattern making, fitting procedures, and garment construction.
- Skilled in working with delicate fabrics such as silk, lace, tulle, and satin.
- Ability to interpret design sketches accurately and translate them into high-quality garments.
- Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for colour matching, embellishments, and finishing touches.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Experience working directly with clients is highly desirable.
