Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:
-
support the Home First team with assessments, reviews and interventions
-
work alongside customers to identify strengths, goals and outcomes that promote independence and wellbeing
-
build positive, trusting relationships with customers, their families and carers to deliver personalised support
-
collaborate with social care colleagues, health professionals and voluntary sector partners to provide joined-up, integrated care
-
contribute to a service that focuses on prevention, recovery and enabling people to live safely and independently at home for as long as possible.
Through your work, you will make a meaningful difference to the lives of people across Suffolk.
You will need
-
a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and current HCPC registration
-
excellent communication and relationship-building skills when working with customers, families, carers, advocates and professional partners
-
the ability to respond effectively to urgent priorities within a fast-paced, team-based environment
-
resilience, adaptability and a positive approach when managing complex situations and competing demands.

The team
Home First is a short-term reablement and assessment service supporting people across Suffolk to remain independent in their own homes. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the team focuses on recovery, strengths-based practice and helping people achieve the best possible outcomes.
