We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Van Conversion Technician to join our team and help us deliver outstanding conversions from start to finish.
The Role
As a Van Conversion Technician, you will be involved in all aspects of van conversions, from initial preparation and insulation through to fitting furniture, flooring, interiors and finishing touches.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and seeing a project develop from an empty van into a finished vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vans for conversion, including stripping, cleaning and preparing surfaces.
- Install insulation, sound deadening, flooring and wall/ceiling panels.
- Measure, cut and install timber, furniture and interior components.
- Fit water systems, sinks, pumps and other conversion components.
- Carry out basic plumbing and mechanical fitting.
- Use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Read and work from drawings, measurements and conversion plans.
- Diagnose problems and find practical solutions during builds.
- Maintain high standards of finish and attention to detail.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe.
- Work efficiently to meet agreed project deadlines.
- Follow company health and safety procedures.
- Carry out quality checks before vehicles are handed over to customers.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical, reliable, hardworking and trust worthy.
- Some experience in carpentry, joinery, vehicle fitting, construction or a similar hands-on trade.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Able to work accurately from measurements and plans.
- A good problem solver with a "can-do" attitude.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
- Quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.
- Organised and able to manage time effectively.
- Passionate about producing high-quality work.
Van conversion experience is desirable but not essential if you have strong practical and transferable skills.
Desirable Skills
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Carpentry or joinery
- Automotive work
- 12V/24V electrical systems
- Plumbing
- Vehicle interiors
- Furniture installation
- CNC, woodworking or panel cutting
- Campervan or motorhome conversions
