Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakehouse Worker to join our team in a fast-paced bakery environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. Prior experience is not mandatory, but a keen interest in baking and food safety is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of doughs, batters, and fillings according to recipes and specifications
- Operate baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers with mechanical knowledge
- Ensure all food safety and HACCP protocols are strictly followed during production processes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakehouse area in compliance with health regulations
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality
- Measure ingredients accurately using basic maths skills to uphold recipe precision
- Support inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment for all staff
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or baking is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety regulations is preferred
- Familiarity with basic mechanical equipment used in bakeries is a plus
- Basic maths skills for measuring ingredients accurately and adjusting recipes as needed
- A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and cleanliness
