Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Locum Pharmacy Dispenser to join our pharmacy team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting the pharmacy’s daily operations. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
- Assist patients with medication queries and provide clear instructions on medication use
- Prepare and label medication containers with precision and attention to detail
- Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Support the pharmacy team with stock management, including inventory checks and ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy setting
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication safety
- Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser, with relevant registration or certification preferred
- NVQ2 certificate or equivalent
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and pharmaceutical regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating professionalism at all times
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills, including managing multiple tasks simultaneously
