We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained. Duties
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food production
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures and maintain compliance with health regulations
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and minimise waste
- Support in training and mentoring junior kitchen team members
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to meet customer expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Contribute to menu development alongside the Head Chef, incorporating innovative ideas
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production
- Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential
- Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service excellence is advantageous
- A recognised culinary qualification or relevant hospitality training is preferred
