Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex technology initiatives across diverse business units. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic projects from inception through successful delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technological standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies, including Agile frameworks like SAFe and Kanban, as well as traditional Waterfall approaches. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and oversee project lifecycle activities to deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business growth. Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale IT initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints.
- Develop comprehensive project plans utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project, TFS (Team Foundation Server), and other project management software.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to define clear project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Coordinate software development activities, including analysis skills, test-driven development, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure quality outcomes.
- Oversee the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), ensuring adherence to best practices in release management, disaster recovery planning, and compliance standards.
- Manage project risks by identifying issues early, implementing mitigation strategies, and communicating status updates effectively across teams using SharePoint, Visio, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Drive collaboration among cross-functional teams utilizing Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban while maintaining flexibility for Waterfall processes when necessary.
- Monitor project progress using Jira, TFS, and other tracking tools; adjust schedules proactively to meet deadlines while managing resources efficiently.
- Engage in negotiation with vendors and stakeholders to secure necessary resources, resolve conflicts, and align expectations for successful project outcomes.
- Lead program management efforts for multiple related projects ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals while managing dependencies across initiatives.
- Support cloud computing initiatives involving AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Oracle cloud platforms; oversee integration efforts with existing systems like SQL databases and Oracle applications.
- Promote effective communication channels within teams through regular meetings, detailed documentation via Microsoft Word or Visio, and updates on SharePoint portals.
Experience
- Proven track record of managing large IT projects using both Agile (SAFe) and Waterfall methodologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, TFS, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong understanding of SDLC processes along with experience in software development lifecycle management including test case creation and execution.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding cross-functional teams through complex projects involving software development, cloud migration (AWS), disaster recovery planning, and release management.
- Expertise in requirements gathering techniques combined with analysis skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication, negotiation tactics, risk mitigation strategies, and organizational skills necessary for program management success.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and Oracle systems to support data-driven decision-making within projects.
- Familiarity with user acceptance testing procedures to validate deliverables meet business expectations before deployment.
