We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Criminal Defence team. The successful candidate will provide essential support in legal research, document preparation, and case management. Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise legal documents, including briefs
- Manage case files and maintain accurate records of case progress
- Assist with the drafting of correspondence
- Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings using organisational tools such as Microsoft Outlook
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, and external agencies in a professional manner
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements
- Support lawyers during court proceedings and client meetings as needed
- Utilise Microsoft Word and Excel to create reports, spreadsheets, and documentation
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar legal support role is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential
- Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software programmes quickly
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Demonstrated time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £24,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
