Overview
Children’s Enabler / Support Worker – Neurodivergent Child (EOTAS)£15 per hour | Ad Hoc Hours | Average 3 Hours Per Week
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Enabler/Support Worker to support our 9-year-old daughter.
This role is funded through Direct Payments.
Our daughter is a neurodivergent child who is educated through an EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than At School) package. We are seeking someone who can build a positive relationship with her, support her interests, and help her access enjoyable activities in the community.
This role would suit someone with experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASD), ADHD, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), anxiety, or EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance).
About the Role
The focus of this role is to provide companionship, encouragement, and support to access activities, build confidence, and enjoy positive experiences within the community.
Activities may include:
- Trips to parks, cafés, libraries, shops, attractions, and community activities.
- Arts, crafts, baking, games, and creative activities.
- Supporting hobbies and interests.
- Helping build confidence and independence.
- Providing a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment.
Important Information
Our daughter generally requires 2:1 support when accessing the community.
Initially, the successful applicant will act as the second adult, supporting alongside a parent and, on occasion, one of her grandparents.
As trust and familiarity develop, there may be opportunities for a second enabler to work alongside you, enabling both enablers to provide community support without a parent being present.

- Ability to build trust and work in a child-led, low-demand way.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with parents.
