Our shop is an important source of funding for our Chesterfield Animal Centre that provides a safe haven for hundreds of rescued and unwanted animals a year until we can find them loving permanent homes. By taking our shop forward and helping maximise its profit you will be making a huge difference to the lives of the animals in our care.
Our shop is located in the heart of Chesterfield town centre where you can enjoy the bustling atmosphere and provide a friendly welcome for customers shopping our varied and interesting selection of clothes, accessories, books and bric-a-brac.
Duties will include:
- Supporting the manager in the daily operation of the shop
- Assisting in achieving agreed sales targets and maximising profits
- Encouraging the donation of quality goods and promoting Gift Aid
- Processing of stock donations in accordance with Branch guidelines and merchandising/visual display of stock to maximise sales
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Assisting with the training, management, development and retention of volunteers
- Ensuring compliance with Branch policies and relevant legislation
- Positively promoting the work of the Branch and helping raise the profile of Branch in the local community

Hours: 16 hours per week including weekend/Public Holiday working (hours to be worked on a rota basis according to operational needs but typically would include one full day (including alternate Saturdays) and two half days per week. The post holder will be required to provide cover for the manager’s absence (for example, days off, holidays, sickness etc.), and some overtime may be required which may be outside of normal working hours.
