Hygiene Operative (Night Shift)
Location: Jarrow, Tyne & Wear
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10:00pm to 6:30am
Reporting To: Hygiene Supervisor / Manager
About the Role
Libra Seafoods who are based in Jarrow, are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Hygiene Operative to join our night shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production areas, machinery, and equipment are cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards, supporting food safety and quality throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning and sanitising of production equipment and factory areas.
- Follow hygiene schedules and cleaning procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, and Health & Safety standards.
- Safely use cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Complete hygiene records and documentation accurately.
- Conduct deep cleaning activities as required.
- Report any equipment faults, damage, or hygiene concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Work effectively as part of the hygiene team to achieve daily targets.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a food manufacturing, food production, food processing, or food handling environment.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A flexible and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to undertake physical cleaning duties.
Desirable Requirements
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- COSHH training.
- Experience working within a BRCGS-accredited food manufacturing site.
- Previous experience on a night shift.
