Brunch Chef
What we’re looking for.
We are looking to build a team of positive, proactive and motivated workers who put quality and customer satisfaction first. We need the ideal candidate to have previous chef experience but will consider candidates keen to learn who have not worked in professional kitchen environment before. We would love you to display desire to learn and we hope you will care about The Old Store as much as we do!
Good communication skills are a must as you will be expected to report to your Lead Chef and work closely with the Cafe Manager. You will be working in a very fast paced environment hence ability to multitask, without compromising on the quality and presentation of the dishes, is crucial. Additionally, you will need to work alongside your Lead Chef to ensure all Health and Safety rules are closely adhered to and that your workspace is always clean and tidy.
Most importantly we need you to be be very organised and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment, communicating well with the rest of the team. We count on your can-do attitude and genuine passion for food to really shine through!
The position will be permanent but paid on an hourly basis. Due to the fact that we are mainly a day-time café, working hours will be sociable but we are planning to occasionally open in the evenings when your evening availability will be required.
We can consider both part time and full time applications.
Your usual day and tasks.
We will be offering a Brunch Menu served from opening until 3pm every day. You will be responsible for food preparation, checking all supplier deliveries as well as ensuring that stock is rotated and controlled to ensure minimal kitchen wastage. From time to time, you will be expected to be able to run the kitchen alone, when service is slower.
