Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead complex engineering projects within our organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, mechanical and electrical design, and project management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative product development and system design initiatives, utilising advanced CAD tools and programming languages. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing project execution from conception to completion, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and client specifications.
- Develop detailed system designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system layouts for electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering applications.
- Utilise programming skills in Python, C, C++, and MATLAB to develop control algorithms and automation solutions involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot technical issues during design, fabrication, or maintenance phases.
- Perform system integration, debugging, and testing of prototypes or operational systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Apply GD&T principles for precise manufacturing tolerances and quality control during fabrication processes.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on product development initiatives, ensuring seamless system integration and optimisation.
- Provide technical guidance on fabrication processes, maintenance procedures, and system upgrades.
- Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and project documentation to support successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in systems engineering with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks for detailed design work.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Python programming, MATLAB, C/C++, and system control algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, fabrication techniques, and maintenance practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting effectively.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards for precision manufacturing.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to product development and system design.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and technical documentation accurately.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate across teams.

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
