FULL-TIME BUTCHER WANTED
Veyseys Butchers – Cullompton & Shaldon
Tuesday–Saturday | 42 Hours Per Week

We are looking for an experienced butcher to join our growing family-run business.
This role is primarily shop-based, so the successful candidate must be confident serving customers, maintaining displays, and providing excellent customer service. However, you will also be expected to assist in the cutting room and break down beef, lamb, pork and game when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintaining a full, attractive and well-stocked meat display
- Preparing customer orders
- Assisting with breaking down beef, lamb, pork and game as required
- Sausage making and preparation of value-added products
- Stock rotation and stock control
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Working efficiently as part of a busy team
- General butchery and shop duties as required
- Breaking beef, Lamb & Pork
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous butchery experience
- Be confident and polite when dealing with customers
- Have good knife skills and all-round butchery knowledge
- Be capable of breaking down carcasses and primal cuts when required
- Have experience making sausages and other butcher’s products
- Be reliable with excellent timekeeping
- Take pride in their work and appearance
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Be willing to travel between our Cullompton and Shaldon shops when required
- Hold high standards of food safety and hygiene
