The Role and Responsibilities
This is a varied role designed to give exposure to multiple areas of finance and help you develop into a qualified accounting professional.
You'll be enrolled in an apprenticeship programme and supported by experienced colleagues and will:
- Prepare and complete bank transactions.
- Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, investigating differences and ensuring records are accurate
- Taking ownership of the finance mailbox, responding to queries and ensuring requests are dealt with promptly
- Assisting with audit queries and supporting the posting of final statutory accounts journals
- Gaining exposure to different areas and divisions within the wider Finance team
- Assisting with the monthly payroll process
- Supporting a variety of finance projects and process improvement initiatives
- Supporting the finance team with the integration of new acquisitions into the business
- Developing your knowledge of finance systems, processes and controls
No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities as your experience grows.
Person specification
We're more interested in your potential than your experience.
You'll likely be:
- GCSE grade 7 or above in English and Maths
- A or A* at A Level in Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification
- A strong academic track record throughout your education
- The ability to build strong and effective working relationships with colleagues
- Excellent organisational skills and an exceptionally high level of attention to detail
- A curious, proactive and positive approach, with a genuine eagerness to learn
- Motivated to study towards a professional qualification.
- Excited by the opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing business
Desirable
- Advanced Excel skills
- An interest in data, systems and automation
Where will I be working?
We are looking for someone for our Whiteley office, and offer hybrid working, currently 3 days in the office, with the remainder at home or at college. The role also includes study release to support your professional development.
We’re incredibly flexible about when and how you work: we don’t want anyone to be prevented from coming to work for Saltus as a result of the working pattern that they’re looking for. The salary is between £21,000 to £25,000 per annum. Alongside a competitive salary, we will provide full study support on the apprenticeship scheme. Providing an excellent opportunity to build a long term career within our Finance team.
