Healthcare Assistant / Domiciliary Carer – Newport

P&N Healthcare Services Ltd is looking for dedicated, compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants / Domiciliary Carers to join our team supporting adults in their own homes across the Newport and Torfaen areas.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide person-centred care and practical support, helping our service users maintain their dignity, independence, safety and quality of life within the comfort of their own homes.
Your role may include:
- Providing personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing and toileting
- Supporting service users with mobility, transfers and positioning
- Assisting with meals, eating and meal preparation
- Providing medication support in accordance with care plans and procedures
- Driving between different service users’ homes to provide scheduled care
- Supporting service users to attend appointments and outings where required
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Following individual care plans and risk assessments
- Communicating effectively with service users, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Completing accurate care records and documentation
- Supporting service users to maintain their independence and daily routines
- Carrying out appropriate light domestic tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment
- Reporting concerns, changes in health or wellbeing and incidents promptly
About You

Essential Requirements
A full, valid UK driving licence is required for this position.
Previous experience in domiciliary care, home care or a care home is desirable, with at least 6 months’ experience preferred.
Care-related qualifications are desirable but not essential where the candidate can demonstrate the appropriate skills, values and suitability for the role.
Location Requirement
This role involves travelling between different service users’ homes throughout Newport and Torfaen.
Applicants who currently live outside the Newport/Torfaen area must be willing to relocate before starting employment.

Working Patterns
Available shifts may include:
- Day shifts
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
- Every weekend
- Weekend-only part-time work
Working hours will be discussed during the recruitment process and will depend on service requirements and your availability.
Education & Experience
Preferred:
- GCSE/O-Level or equivalent
- Relevant care qualification
- 6 months’ experience in a care home
- 6 months’ experience in home care or domiciliary care
Essential:
- Valid driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Good spoken and written English
- Commitment to providing safe, person-centred care
