About Us
Homeless Action is a Blackpool-based charity providing accommodation and support to people experiencing homelessness. Every day, we prepare and serve nutritious, home-cooked meals for 79 residents across three supported homeless hostels. We believe that a good meal can make a real difference, and we're looking for someone who shares that belief.
The Role
Working alongside our experienced cooks, you will assist with the preparation and service of meals, helping to ensure our residents receive high-quality food in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career in catering. Previous experience is not essential—we're looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Full training will be provided.

- Carry out food preparation, including washing, peeling and chopping ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils and work surfaces.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, dependable and takes pride in turning up ready to work every day.
- Has a genuine passion for learning and developing new skills.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Has a positive, can-do attitude.
- Is organised and able to work in a busy kitchen environment.
- Understands the importance of cleanliness and food hygiene.
Previous catering experience is not essential. We can teach the skills needed for the role, but reliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are qualities that cannot be taught and are therefore essential.
