The Baby Ubuntu team is seeking a Research Fellow with a clinical background to contribute across a portfolio of implementation research programmes that improve outcomes for newborns, children and families through health systems strengthening in the UK and diverse international settings, including low-income contexts. Working closely with the team, you will support the design, implementation and evaluation of family-centred interventions that improve equity, quality and continuity of care for children with disabilities and their caregivers. You will work with academic, clinical, policy and community partners, contribute to stakeholder and public involvement activities, disseminate research findings, and support the development of future funding applications.
Applicants should have a postgraduate qualification, ideally a doctorate, in a relevant discipline, with quantitative and qualitative research experience in newborn health and/or early childhood developmental disability. You will have experience contributing to publications, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Clinical experience, experience working with multidisciplinary partners and people with lived experience, and skills in quantitative data analysis are essential.
The post is part-time 21 hours per week, 0.6 FTE and fixed-term for 6 months, with possibility of extension subject to funding. The post is funded by the CRI Foundation and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
