Environmental Enforcement Officer
Grade F - £34,198.50 - £39,138.00 per annum
Full Time – 37 hours per week
Up To 2 years fixed term or secondment - Agile and flexible working supported
The Job:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Environmental Protection and Enforcement Team as an Environmental Enforcement Officer.
The role will undertake a range of duties dealing with a wide range of environmental crime issues, such as fly tipping, littering, accumulations on land, abandoned vehicles as well as pest issues and assisting the dog warden. You will manage your own caseload of reactive and proactive work, with help and support from your line manager and colleagues.

The Person:
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the legislation (such as the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 and the Anti-Social Behavior, Crime and Policing Act 2014), the issues we tackle and experience of enforcement in a local government setting alongside a proven track record of working with other partner agencies.
The person should also be a good communicator and negotiator who can use their skills to get resolutions for the people of Cherwell. They should also be confident in delivering news and updates that some people may not agree with or want to hear
