Primary Responsibilities
Property Maintenance
- Carry out routine repairs (basic joinery, plastering, plumbing) promptly
- Identify and report maintenance issues and hazards (e.g. electrical faults, damp)
- Maintain fire doors and complete minor installations
- Ensure high standards across communal areas, rooms, and outdoor spaces are maintained
- Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks
- Undertake painting and decorating tasks
Supporting Staff & Residents
- Treat residents with respect and sensitivity to vulnerabilities
- Respond to maintenance issues using active listening and professionalism
- Prioritise urgent repairs affecting health and safety
Health & Safety Compliance
- Follow all company policies and relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH)
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update internal systems
- Complete vehicle checks, mileage, and damage reports
Property Upkeep
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of communal areas
- Carry out minor ground’s maintenance (gardening, litter picking)
- Monitor drains and gutters and report specialist tasks when required
Experience and Skill Set
Essential:
- Minimum of 1-year verifiable experience in general maintenance or a relevant trade
- Certified relevant training, e.g. CSCS card & PASMA
- High level competence in fire door installation
- A clear understanding of H&S and safeguarding practices
- Outstanding communication and customer services skills
- Clean and Update DBS certification
- To be able to work independently and part of a team.
Desirable:
- A verifiable history of working in supported housing, social housing, care and residential environments
- An understanding of trauma informed approaches
- Experience in conducting property inspections
