Job Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, controlling inventory, maximizing profitability, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all bar operations.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate bartenders and bar staff.
- Ensure excellent customer service and resolve guest complaints professionally.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimize waste.
- Develop beverage menus, promotions, and pricing strategies.
- Maintain quality standards for beverages and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and responsible alcohol service.
- Control costs by monitoring sales, labor, and beverage expenses.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and inventory reports.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the bar area.
- Coordinate with kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Handle cash, reconcile daily sales, and oversee POS transactions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in bar operations, including supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cocktails, wines, spirits, and beverage service.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
