Job Title: Design & Development Project Manager

Location: Derby
Hours: Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Rate of Pay: £40,000 – £50,000 p/a, dependent on experience
Objective:
In this role, you will be instrumental in planning, executing, and overseeing both Design and Development projects for several customers globally. You will lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and budgets using project management software and methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project requirements, resources, and potential risks, and conduct regular project status meetings to provide timely updates to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Design and Development projects from the point of quotation through to completion.
- Establishing and maintaining project reports (schedule, cost and profitability) and communicating project status to senior management.
- Customer reporting, as necessary.
- Identifying project risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Managing the flow of engineering drawings and instructions to manufacturing and assembly.
- Work closely with the Design and Development teams to track progress and highlight any issues.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and engineering colleagues and with customers and suppliers.
- Accurately recording lessons learned and performing project close out per company processes.
- On occasion travel may be required at customer sites, both domestic and international.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required.

Qualifications & Competencies:
- A completed Engineering Degree or HNC/HND qualification
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Previous project management experience using tools such as MS Project or similar.
- Experience using ERP systems would be beneficial, however, training on the company system will be provided.
- Experience of working on gas turbine OEM and/or instrumentation projects would be beneficial but not essential.
- Understanding of layouts and engineering drawings.
- Flexible and able to adapt to change.
- Must be highly organised, able to prioritise and be self-motivated.
- Good communication and reporting skills using MS tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Physical Demands & Locations:
- Predominately an office based role, there may be occasional requirements to operate within the workshop or visit customer sites, including production and test facilities. The jobholder shall be required to work in accordance with the relevant site Health & Safety Policy.
- From time to time, it may be necessary for the jobholder to undertake reasonable tasks on behalf of the company, which would not normally be regarded as part of the role. The jobholder shall carry these out to the best of their ability.
- The position may require travel both in the UK and possibly overseas. The jobholder shall hold a full UK driving licence and Passport.
