We are looking for two reliable and motivated HGV Class 1 Loader/Shunters to join our team at the Lidl Regional Distribution Centre in Exeter.
This is a varied role combining loading double-deck trailers using powered pallet trucks (PPTs) with shunting trailers around the distribution centre. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for drivers looking to develop their skills in a busy RDC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Load double-deck trailers safely and efficiently using powered pallet trucks (PPTs).
- Shunt double-deck trailers within the RDC yard.
- Carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks.
- Ensure loads are secure and completed to company standards.
- Work safely and follow all site procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the warehouse and transport teams.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- A safety-conscious and professional attitude.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off rota.
- Previous shunting or RDC experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
