You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Watford in where we are responsible for bringing design build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our Tender Team, where you will play a key role in transforming tender information into competitive and commercially viable cost estimates.
As the Assistant Estimator, you will:
- To assist with the pricing including developing the prelims book, updating the carbon footprint and entering subcontractors into Candy including comparisons and assessments for opportunities and value engineering
- Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
- Working with a Senior Estimator to prepare the financial elements of the tender.
- Assist with the preparation of BOQs in the estimating package and bid team in any post tender negotiations.
- Assist with the Pricing of preliminaries and reconcile pricing with planning team
We are looking for:
- Estimating Department Experience
- Develop knowledge of commercial conditions (including NEC) and design process
- Experience of working in an estimating environment.
- Computerised estimating systems and IT skills as appropriate
