Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Full Time Department Supervisor to lead and manage one of our main departments in store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in commercial thinking, problem solving and merchandising within a retail environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee your own department, motivate staff, and ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained. The successful applicant will be organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the department
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members and deliver outstanding customer service
- Delegate tasks, and monitor performance to optimise team productivity
- Oversee merchandising activities to maintain visual standards and maximise sales opportunities
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining excellent service
- Assist in training new staff members and provide ongoing coaching to enhance skills and knowledge within the store and your department
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives
Skills
- Proven management experience with a focus on supervising teams within retail or sales environments
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide staff towards shared goals
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organised with exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated organisational skills with experience in merchandising
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in sales , retail, or related fields is preferred
- Proficient in using organisational tools such as spreadsheets and point-of-sale systems
