Support Worker – House of Multiple Occupancy and Outreach Service
Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health Association is an established in 1988, providing care and support for adults across Dumfries and Galloway with a diagnosed mental health condition. We are a Regional Scottish Charity with a strong vision and drive to deliver excellence in care support provision.
We are looking for a full-time Support Worker to join our dedicated team at our House of Multiple Occupancy provision and Outreach Service in Castle Douglas. Full training and support will be provided; however, we do require candidates who have a good depth of awareness and understanding of Mental Health and have the ability to create, develop and drive forward personalised support plans.
The role will involve supporting adults with complex needs maintain their tenancies and with all aspects of home and community living, emotional and phycological support. We seek to empower and build confidence ensuring a healthy and fulfilled daily lifestyle. Support can often be a listening ear, signposting, engaging in social activities, meal preparation, attending appointments alongside coping mechanisms and wellbeing support.
Covering the Castle Douglas and surrounding area, the need for a full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential with flexible hours available including days, evenings and weekends on a 35 hour per week contract basis. You will ideally have previous experience in social care and a relevant qualification. However, we are willing to invest and commit to fully training the right candidate for the role as we pride ourselves on a value-based ethos.

We are committed to safer care for adults receiving our services, as such we will be using a demanding and rigorous selection process to fill this post including a Screening Interview, Panel Interview, Service User involvement and full Disclosure Scotland PVG check. References will be taken after successful Screening Interview.
