Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Disability Support Worker to provide personalised care and support to individuals with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will assist clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being within a caring environment. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Support clients in participating in community activities, outings, and social events to promote social inclusion and medical appointments
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Provide specialised care for clients with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD conditions And challenging behaviour
- Help with moving and handling for Clients with limited mobility.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in client health to senior staff.
- Support clients with transportation needs by driving them to appointments or activities when required.
- Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, cooking and organising personal spaces to promote a safe environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in residential and supported living environments is desirable.
- Knowledge of clients personalised care plans care principles,
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively.
- Training completed in the Care Certificate.
- Excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support.
- Competence in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary requirements.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities.
