We’re looking for a confident, driven, and technically strong Manager to join our manufacturing leadership team.
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Group Plant, Reliability Manger
- Functional reporting: Group Engineering / Operations
- Works closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Provides technical leadership to engineers, planners and contractors.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop the site reliability strategy.
- Improve equipment availability and reliability.
- Reduce unplanned downtime.
- Own preventative and predictive maintenance programme.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Improve maintenance planning and CMMS discipline.
- Support capital investment and commissioning projects.
- Drive engineering continuous improvement.
- Develop engineering capability and technical standards.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment performance and identify poor performing assets.
- Review maintenance plans and optimize maintenance intervals.
- Introduce condition monitoring techniques including vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis.
- Maintain an active Repeat Failure Register.
- Lead investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.
- Review critical spares and optimize inventory.
- Develop reliability dashboards and monthly reports.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) activities.
- Ensure engineering documentation remains current.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act etc.
- Support compliance with PUWER, LOLER, Electricity at Work Regulations and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations.
- Promote safe systems of work and engineering risk assessments.
- Support machinery safety improvements and guarding standards.
- Ensure contractor control procedures are followed.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Coach engineers in fault finding and reliability techniques.
- Support competency development.
- Lead reliability review meetings.
- Build collaborative relationships across all departments.
Pay: Up to £70,000.00 per year
