Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently, creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders using practice management software
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries appropriately
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs, including billing and payment processing
- Handle correspondence, including emails and postal mail, in an organised manner
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, professional, and welcoming at all times
- Support the clinical team with administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Proven office experience or administrative experience within a healthcare setting is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in using office software such as MS Office (Word, Excel) and practice management systems
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive information discreetly
- Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards patients and colleagues
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment
Pay: £12.75 per hour
