Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
- Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
- Mixing colours and matching shades to meet project specifications
- Ensuring all work is completed within specified timeframes whilst maintaining safety standards
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering floors and furniture during application processes
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Maintaining tools and equipment in excellent condition for optimal performance
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
- Ability to operate various painting tools and equipment efficiently
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence to facilitate travel between multiple sites as required
- Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail and quality workmanship
- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as lifting materials and working at heights if necessary
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
