We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Community Special School in Farnborough from September.
The school caters for approximately 165 pupils aged 4 to 19 with complex learning difficulties, providing a supportive and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. You'll have the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary age groups, supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a committed and friendly team, working closely with teachers and other professionals to provide personalised support that enables every pupil to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
- Support pupils with complex learning difficulties on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
- Promote pupils' independence, communication and social development.
- Support pupils with their personal, emotional and educational needs throughout the school day.
- Help create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff to ensure every pupil receives the highest level of support.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people succeed.
