Delivery Driver / Carpet Fitter’s Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver / Carpet Fitter’s Assistant.
This is a hands-on role within a busy carpet and flooring business. You will be responsible for delivering carpets and flooring materials, assisting our carpet fitter with installations, and helping with warehouse and shop duties when required.
Requirements
- Must be aged 30 or over due to insurance requirements
- Must have held a full UK driving licence for at least 3 years
- Must have a clean driving licence
- Good knowledge of London and Essex roads
- Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy carpets and furniture
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good spoken English
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
Responsibilities
- Deliver carpets and flooring materials to customers
- Safely load and unload the vehicle
- Assist the carpet fitter with installations
- Lift and move heavy carpets, underlay and furniture
- Help prepare rooms before carpet installation
- Hoover and clean up thoroughly after installations
- Help move and organise stock in the warehouse
- Assist with general warehouse duties as directed
- Help in the shop when required
- Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by management
- Ensure goods are handled and transported safely
Working Hours
- Monday to Saturday
- 9:00am – 6.00pm
- Part time Position
- Some flexibility may be required depending on the needs of the business

Education
GCSE or equivalent preferred.

This is a physically demanding job involving heavy lifting, deliveries, carpet fitting assistance, cleaning and warehouse work. Applicants must be prepared to get stuck in and help wherever required.
